At a time when the prevailing trends are aiming for maximalism and extreme embellishment, Vanessa Bruno goes against the flow to present a clean “no frills” collection, of simple pieces with a vaguely seventies allure: bohemian blouses with soft sleeves, off-the-shoulder tops, dresses of varying lengths with a matching Japanese-inspired obi belt, slouchy knits worn with wide skirts. Some garments have a stronger, more volatile taste, such as the leather, knee-length skirt with a double central zip. Others give the nod to the men’s wardrobe, such as blazers, even in a tuxedo version, worn with flowing trousers with a side strip. Generally, however, it is a delicate, airy collection, designed for a holiday, for a carefree trip without a fixed destination.
