What if diamonds really were a girl’s best friend? Tsumori Chisato doesn’t doubt it, given that her collection revolved around the precious stone par excellence, which was embroidered on knits and mini-dresses, jacquarded on coats and skirts, applied in the form of beads or metallic thread, in maxi lace collars or multi-coloured chokers. When the embellishments didn’t recall them, the colours did in vermillion, blue, purple, fuchsia and orange, showcasing their reflections and facets, together with contrasting iridescent bands, fringing, pattern-effect prints mixed with other patterns on some surfaces, seemingly borrowed from children’s bedroom wallpaper designs. The shapes were mainly flared and hemlines ranged from mini to midi.
