The Marche based brand designed by Alessandra Facchinetti shined the spotlight on craftsmanship. Her elegant latest collection is perfect for the city, consistent with Tod’s style but leaving room for the designer’s own hand. Stitching and topstitching became motifs on leather aviator jackets and coats. Oversize jumpers were worn over bare skin with tailored skirts, while other slimmer knits were floor-length dresses. Leather was a key material, in shades of brown, black and purple. Bordeaux was used for velvet and blue, oscillating between cobalt and sea blue, added a sporty touch here and there. Long checked shirts had a grungy feel, embellished with studded trimmings and collars, while suede outfits took the mood back by at least twenty years. Fur decorated jacket and coat collars, but was also used to make entire outerwear pieces.
