A plush white carpet, faux yellow sunlight and vintage TVs playing grainy video of oceans, hay fields and sunsets was the scene Francesco Fucci set inside a Chelsea gallery for his Theory collection. A former member of the team at The Row, he is aiming to express a similar sense of clean, relaxed luxury. The clothes fell precisely down the body in clean, almost austere shapes softened only by the yellow, ivory and red colours reminiscent of the designer’s youthful holidays on the Mediterranean. The already vertical silhouette was further elongated by long dresses and soft trousers worn with tunics or tube skirts, straight shirts worn outside the trousers, straight overcoats and some visible underwear.
