Things are going great for Stella McCartney, so there is no need to introduce anything radically new; just a desire to reaffirm “her signature sense of unruffled cool”. The brand’s key pieces, i.e. tailoring, sportswear and lingerie, were reasserted as well as its commitment to environmental and animal protection issues with sustainable viscose, faux leather and recycled nylon. There were relaxed masculine suits, with an oblique strip detail sweeping down from one shoulder and buttoning on the opposite side of the jacket, zipped jumpsuits, oversize trenches, tie-dye T-shirts, trousers with zip-adjustable volume, slip-dresses and skater playsuits in a pattern reminiscent of a granny’s wallpaper. Comfortable ballet slippers were worn even with the evening looks.
