Sporty has never been so chic. Sportmax has been working on this idea since 1969, but this collection seemed to be happier than ever to team practicality with elegance. The cleanness of the lines gave a homogeneous feel to next winter’s offer. The jackets in black or white or with words printed on them recalled work wear and were teamed with a matching mini. The jumpers were soft, worn over track pants-style trousers or tapered skirts falling to the calf. A simple orange sweatshirt was tucked into technical trousers with zips, while a quilted white one came with a matching scarf and comfortable trousers. The versatility of the ever-present nylon lent itself to shirts, rain jackets, dresses and jumpsuits with zips or drawstrings. Black, in contrast with white, was the dominant colour: together with regimental blue, they created a series of even more rigorous pieces that also included technical details such as a climbing carabiner as a fastener.
