Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are no strangers to the travel theme; it often inspires their collections and they dipped into it again for this Red Valentino show, which ranged from exploring lush, exotic nature to seeking out the sea and deep ocean creatures, to snow-capped peaks. This meant a series of looks adaptable to different places and climates; sailor knits worn with tube skirts or flared trousers, waxed jackets, mini-dresses with dungarees straps, sailor coats, sweaters and shorts in navy, coats and jackets with fur collars and folky insets and embroidery paired with floral sweaters and long dresses reminiscent of remote lands and customs – all mixed with young urban details and styles.
