Just classic and waspish enough, the Ralph Lauren collection was about exclusive luxury, in which the word ‘sport’, though present, was synonymous with elegance, even when talking about mountain clothes. Don’t be fooled by the skis, ski-poles, helmets and goggles (in carbon fibre), because the ski suit was in cashmere complete with anti-avalanche device. Other ‘mountain’ wear came in the form of furs, sheepskin and suede bombers, some with fringes, worn with pure white total looks, a leather belt and brown boots. Tailoring was seen in the formal suits, some three-piece, from single and double-breasted destructured blazers to a dinner jacket with an art deco floral print worn with branded slippers.
