The Proenza Schouler show featured a high level of experimentation and craftsmanship, the creative duo having drawn inspiration from the “almost defunct couture ateliers” visited in Paris. A double-breasted, sailor striped version of the Bar jacket was layered over a plissé asymmetric skirt, a couple of dresses were woven from leather and trimmed with feathers to resemble Mondrian paintings or else had knotted peephole bodices. T-shirts were layered over animal knits with obi-like belts tied at the waist, crossover crop tops came with matching asymmetric plissé skirts, while other knits featured decorative cut-outs. Bold colours intensified the shapes and textures.
