In their third collection for Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia seem to have gained more confidence and balance, which is not easy considering the red carpet excellence established by the founder. Drawing on memories of a trip made with de la Renta to The Cloisters, the wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, to see a sound installation by artist Janet Cardiff, the creative duo used enchanting medieval tapestries to create prints, embroidery and appliqués for coats, dresses, shirts, jumpers, and skirts of various styles and lengths. Evening wear was also floral, with the addition of gold and silver as well as transparencies and airy tulle.
