Editorial

A special guest at the latest edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, Virgil Abloh, the designer who is also an engineer, architect and DJ, and Kanye West’s former right-hand man, presented a collection entitled ‘Temperature’ and it was not hard to make the connection with climate change – a very hot topic right now. The clothes were mostly technical with a streetwear feel: short- or long-sleeved shirts were tucked into very short yet wide shorts with elasticated waist, which resembled skirts, or with loose high-waist trousers, some of which were sporty and puddled over solid sneakers. Some of the shirts and T-shirts were shot through with invisible zips that opened over the abdomen, while other tops were hand-knitted. The outerwear was oversize yet light, in nylon or other technical fabrics, and ranged from trenches to windbreakers, but there were also blazers given a sporty twist with contrasting colour details.
