A garden party with tea at five o’clock. Mulberry celebrated the elegance of English rituals with a ‘see now, buy now’ collection. The show was staged in the courtyard of Spencer House in St. James’s Place and pulsated with freshness and grace. The clothes were made of great drapes, ruches and flounces in impalpable fabrics. Silk and organza swayed to the notes of a string quartet. The shapes were soft, loose and flared, and gave a relaxed allure to the silhouette. Prints featured flowers, buds and climbing plants. Delicate crystals rested on satin like raindrops, playing with reflections. Linen suits teamed the elegance of tailoring with a bold palette, from emerald green to cream. The show-stopping hats added to the bright colour palette created by Johnny Coca: candy pink, antique blue, electric blue, mint, lemon and peach.
