Dedicated to contemporary perceptions of freedom and movement, the new collection from Korean brand MCM drew inspiration from aviation and, consequently, military uniforms and their pure functionality. Genderless as almost all collections are these days, the clothes had a relaxed fit resulting from light, impalpable or sheer fabrics with glossy or sequinned textures reminiscent of iridescent bird’s plumage. And, as often happens during an acrobatic parachute jump, when divers come together in formations, the collection also featured modular clothes and accessories, with parts that could be added or removed. Plenty of pockets, belt-straps or wide bands around the waist, adjustable Velcro or elastics at the cuffs and ankles and big backpacks blended in with the clothing.
