Idyllic evening sunshine, harmonious waves and sand. The aesthetic of the sunset pervaded Markus Lupfer’s collection in soft colours and transparencies and light, ethereal fabrics. The clothes reverberated with romanticism and enchantment. Brightness and shine came from little shimmers, iridescent sequins, buds, shoots and iridescent tints. Metallic, luminescent surfaces gave the right amount of energy alongside Memphis-inspired floral graphics and prints. Ribbons tied at the shoulders and left to flutter down the arms, flounces, ruffles, and V necklines gave the silhouette a sophisticated, new touch. Many of the looks were plissé. Mid-calf length skirts, pencil skirts, blouses, slip dresses and palazzo pants were the dominant pieces. The mood was delicate: impalpable, soft, light fabrics such as airy chiffon and tulle. Soft colours included melon, lilac, mint and sky blue. Sand dunes were the ideal setting.
