New York fashion week ended with Marc Jacobs’ spectacular show. The first outfit emerged to the ting of a bell: gothic make-up, rock concert sweatshirt with big crocheted collar, circle skirt with crinoline and sky-high platforms – a mixture of styles and references (including to past Jacobs’ collections), which then continued for all 65 looks. There were oversize denim outfits, polka dot pieces, Chanel-style suits in XXL size, extra-long coats, shirts with big bows, long sheer lacy dresses worn with a leather biker jacket or iridescent sequins. Yet more crinolines, feathers and fur panels, babydolls and slip dresses – all oversized and excessive.
