Now without Albert Elbaz and designed by an in-house team, Lanvin is seeking new roads to travel ahead of the arrival of a new creative director. The collection showcased ’80s ‘Dynasty’ looks including suits with oversize jackets and mid-calf length godet skirts, and fluid dresses featuring ruches and silky or metallic surfaces with a ‘chocolate wrapper’ effect. Furs and coats were cosy, blouses and blazers had statement shoulders or puff sleeves, lace insets or peplums, skirts were mainly long and pleated, and trousers loose and masculine. The sparkles, embroidery and embellishments on the clothes were augmented by the jewellery, from maxi earrings to crystal chokers.
