The Junya Watanabe show featured a total destructuring of punk with an origami twist, with dresses and skirts turned into three-dimensional structures with multi-faceted surfaces. Tartan came in various colours, from classic red to yellow and blue, assembled in some of the looks with animal and/or patchworks of various materials. Tops and outerwear defied any attempt at pigeon-holing, their complex shapes projected outwards, recognisable in some cases by the central body of a leather biker jacket or structured blazer, while kilts of various lengths, or simple skirts, were a mass of asymmetry, pleats and corners. Mini-dresses featured lots of draping, while everything was worn with studded collars, fishnet tights and combat boots.
