Plunging necklines, sky high splits, stiletto half boots and natural loose hair – the Jason Wu woman oozes glamour and sexiness from every pore, giving a daring and volatile image of herself. Following a summer collection imbued with Charlotte Rampling style androgyny, Wu chose a French cinema icon, Catherine Deneuve, cool and mysterious in her fur coats and big stoles held at the waist with thin belts over flared tops and long midi length dresses, rare embellishments on otherwise clean looks with vertical lines made more severe by the abundant use of military green and matt croc leather. You don’t even notice the spangles on the long mermaid t-dresses, which swap glimmer for transparency in the evening, while the abundant use of wool (cashmere) for coats and dresses keeps the woman who thinks she is a goddess grounded.
