Haider Ackermann’s masterful tailoring with a feminine twist was fully expressed in this new collection dominated by sharp jackets and coats worn with high-waist trousers that ranged from skinny in leather to mannish in broadcloth, and pointed patent lace-ups. Blazers came in various guises – short and boxy, collarless and lapel-less to long, shaped, with contrasting lining and asymmetric fastening, while tops were twisted around the bust using a complex system of wrappings that bared sections of skin. The same procedure was used for dresses, which were long and sinuous with sensual cut-outs over the shoulders and abdomen, tending to elongate the already vertical, lean silhouette. The graphic colour palette included white and black illuminated by sealing wax red and gold.
