Fighting spirit, feminine delicacy. Fendi dedicates its collection to a sweet yet gutsy woman who is not afraid of stealing clothes from the men. Silvia Venturini Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld explored the archives, opened old boxes in the atelier and proposed a reworking of the brand’s heritage. Severe shapes, sharp shoulders and references to the eighties were embellished and given more lightness. Coats came in bright Prince of Wales. The double-F print shone on plastic-coated trenches. Sweatshirts featured the iconic logo in soft fur. Military inspiration embraced romanticism: uniforms had white collars and midi length skirts had splits and pleats. The sensitivity of the female soul was expressed in all the shades of white, navy blue, musk green and beige, in precious intarsia furs, long dresses scalloped-edged and embroidered like silk neckerchiefs. A nostalgic woman, but one who never gives in.
