It’s all change again at Emanuel Ungaro. After being appointed as global CEO and acquiring a stake in the brand last year, Roy Luwolt decided to dismiss Marco Colagrossi, who had produced quite a promising collection last season. Luwolt is now in charge of the line, so there were no more polka dots or bright patterns; just monochrome or light stripes and checks, while colours ranged from neutrals to various shades of yellow and touches of fuchsia and orange. Dresses spanning short to long often had iridescent and slightly crumpled surfaces like chocolate wrappers, as seen in some of the asymmetric, draped cropped tops teamed with mini-skirts or high-waist trousers. There was also some tailoring and outerwear, including a trench with Donald Trump stitched onto it.
