The second action movie in the Ninja trilogy, ‘Revenge of the Ninja’, released in 1983, inspired Andreas Melbostad for his new Diesel Black Gold collection. The brand’s urbanwear was injected with a martial arts elegance, with biker jackets, anoraks and cassocks resembling kimonos or Samurai armour and darted, low crotch trousers tied at the waist with a double obi-like belt. Shirts also had a military feel with epaulettes and pockets, zipped and/or hooded sweatshirts had a sporty look and knits with contrast padding resembled biker wear. The colour palette came in bold shades of blue, alongside black, white and pale grey.
