“A very cinematographic collection”. That’s how Ennio Capasa described his latest for Costume National, highlighting how important lighting is in exercising his creativity. He explored a variety of contrasts here, between black and white, and between romanticism and tailoring. Designing for a woman who lives by day more than by night, Capasa cut up a suit jacket leaving in some cases just the lapels or turning it into a skirt, making outfits that bit more seductive. The necklines, when they are there, mark a deep V on the chest, without ever being vulgar. The dresses are short but discreet; perhaps too discreet. The high points were a scarlet red suit and a silver mini-dress.
