Frank Havrah “Kaffe” Fassett is an American artist famous for his super-colourful works whose application knows no limits. Applied to needlepoint, knit, embroidery, patchwork and quilting, Fassett also provided the inspiration for Stuart Vevers’ collection for Coach 1941. With its bold motifs and psychedelic colours, the show brought a cheerfulness and positivity and some very eye-catching contrasts. The brand’s ethereal chiffon mini-dresses were paired with oversize checked bermuda shorts, chunky knitwear, shearling and faux fur (Coach is the latest in a long series of brands turning away from natural fur), alternated with blazers and coats, which were also oversize and with contrasting insets. Lace-up ankle boots and creepers hybridised with sneakers completed the look.
