There’s been a change of guard at Carolina Herrera. Wes Gordon made his début as creative director of the long-standing brand after working alongside its founder for a year and a half. The most important lesson Gordon learned in that time is that “happy people make happy clothes”. And with the blessing of Herrera herself, the young designer presented a collection that nodded to the younger generation, with wraparound mini-skirts worn with a classic white shirt, floral and polka dot cropped tops and mini-dresses. Long-time clients may prefer the longer hemlines, which came in the same bold tints of orange, red, yellow and green used even for the evening wear.
