An early 20th century atmosphere pervaded Carolina Herrera’s show, which opened with a series of white blouses paired with black trousers and pleated skirts but also all-white looks. The blouses were decorated with contrasting velvet ribbons and/or tiny cotton pearls embroidered on the trims and sleeves, while collars were pointed or rounded. But the overall effect of the collection was contemporary: from leather pieces to suits with a biker jacket in place of a blazer, to knitted sweaters, an urban mood gave way to romantic chiffon dresses in intense colours featuring the ribbon fasteners seen at the start of the show.
