Capucci’s new life has not come, as you might think, from the archive but from new creative director Mario Dice’s memories of the brand’s founder. The pleats, layered fabrics, stitching and insets reflected the brand’s penchant for architecture and shapes. The construction of bows or folds were made to look like the pages of a book and some of the finishes resembled ruffs. Black was elegant in defined silhouettes or slightly transparent evening dresses, while white had a summery feel in a little lace dress or in colourful embroidery, or in a sporty tracksuit. Red featured on clothes for any time of day. Blue and green recalled peacock feathers while geometric patterns on long dresses and skirts harked back to the ’70s.
