Sixties Rome. The atmosphere of the Piper Club comes to life in the Capucci collection. The winter season has bold colours – aqua green, fuchsia, peony, lime green – and an evocative title: “Opera Beat”. Suits embrace a pastel palette, but also have a gutsy, eye-catching spirit thanks to shuttle-woven, tartan, check, and houndstooth insets. Capucci skilfully directs the synergies and contrasts: jackets have precious whirls, redundant flounces, ruffles, 3D intarsia; trenches and bombers have masculine lines but also delicate reliefs and origami techniques. Light silk and cashmere knitwear resembles a fabric. Trapeze dresses have A lines. For the evening, impalpable chiffon features lace intarsia, micro plissé, and laser origami in double-face lace. The collection lies between past and present, between experimentation and tradition – a style icon.
