Christopher Bailey, ceo and creative director at Burberry, describes his new collection as a mixture of the things he loves most, including ’70s glam-rock, military tailoring and bohemian style. The hair and make-up paid homage to David Bowie and his Ziggy Stardust, the dresses went from mini to long, with the former in iridescent jacquard or floral sequins and the latter in Pre-Raphaelite hippy style, with high waists and a fluid skirt with contrasting pleats. Dresses were paired with outerwear in various styles and lengths, though mostly with a military feel: regimental coats, fur-collared parkas, cadet jackets, checked wool coats, oversize furs and shearling – all worn with patterned tights, python booties and little bags with long shoulder strap and XXL buckle.
