Brunello Cucinelli’s new collection offered a consolidated style with slight tweaks on fit, which was a little softer, and on proportions, with jackets and trousers slightly longer. Layered looks featured T-shirts, shirts or gilets and a cloud-soft alpaca knit, jacket and coat or shearling, worn with corduroy velvet trousers or slim jeans with tapering, turned-up cuffs. Velvet, treated like cashmere, was also used for suits and dinner jackets, extracting maximum shine from the fabric and a dash of magic for the surfaces that gleamed in the light. The warm tonal colours added to the general sense of refined comfort.
