American college kids on tour in Italy, perhaps in Florence, where creative director Angelo Van Mol showed his latest Band of Outsiders collection. A grassy square in the Fortezza da Basso was dotted with polystyrene columns, busts and sculptures, which were also printed on the shirts and bermuda shorts worn by these tourists. They also wore baseball caps and branded bumbags, college jackets and jumpers, printed T-shirts, loose trousers and shorts topped with shirt tails. The classic tourist outfit of tracksuits and sneakers came out of the brand’s collaboration with Sergio Tacchini, the long-standing Italian sportswear brand. Suits and coats were mainly oversize, with turned-up jacket sleeves and creased shirt tails. In short, this kid does not mind if he looks a little untidy, after all he is on holiday!
