Angelo Van Mol, the new creative director at Band of Outsiders, presented his new collection in a small East London boutique. The setting and clothes had a ’60s and ’70s era twist, inspiration coming from the moon landing beamed into living rooms in 1969. The clothes were mainly regular casual wear, velvet outerwear, checked blazers and overcoats, striped knits but also tracksuits – all worn with lace-ups. Some pieces were embellished with themed motifs, such as rockets or black and white photographic prints of the event, or featured colourful vertical stripes that may have represented the tracks left by the spacecraft and added a little flair to the collection, alongside pompom hats and big logo scarves.
