Olivier Rousteing’s first collection for Balmain Homme was centred around the theme of adventure, of discovery and the search for the self. An explorer dressed for a safari, with a peaked cap and many-pocketed backpack, wearing gladiator sandals instead of classic boots and cargo trousers, both short and long, with a low crotch and braces pulled down, alternated with soft track pants with an unfastened drawstring. The brand’s classic braiding was reworked in a jute organic twine, decorating jackets and biker jackets, also proposed in woven leather, and the brand’s iconic gold chain also made an appearance. The series of khaki outfits was followed by gold-trimmed black for the evening.
