An opulent, blazing, over-the-top show from Olivier Rousteing for Balmain, who described it as music meets fashion with a particular focus on heavy metal. Heavy metal iconography was recreated on t-shirts and camouflage jackets in the form of phoenixes, lions and eagles made with painstaking pearl appliqués or golden embroidery – an insane whirlwind of embellishment. These were followed by pyjama-suits in gold knit, ribbed knit outfits with metallic details, leather jackets and coats with oversize collars, wraparound jackets in macro houndstooth or studded biker or quilted black leather jackets, or else decorated with bold colours such as red and purple. Trousers were mainly skinny and tucked into lace-up boots or soft with drawstring waist.
