The Babylon collection for next Autumn/Winter plays on a variety of elements. For an early October weekend away, silk prints came in powder pink with sketched motifs. The palette varied between b/w with a touch of pastel and a softness that ranged from pure white Nordic knit to a fluffy white fur. A mini-dress with bright Lurex threads completed the atmosphere. Then the show moved towards navy. Between structured and rounded, a blazer-bolero with contrasting lapels and a soft-looking shorts suit formed the new casual elegant with uniform touches. There was plenty of attention to detail in the passementerie on the mandarin collar and braided shorts. Evening came and the volume was turned up. Optical lozenges on body-con dresses and a focus on necklines, which left the shoulders bare. Victorian with attention to movement, a casual jacket revealed sinuous waves that offset the cleanness of the trousers with minimal decoration. A crescendo of lace closed out the show. Mini sheath dresses and looser, airy dresses. A touch of black & nude added further refinement to the elegance.
