Alexander Wang adores New York cool, so it was no surprise that his 10th anniversary collection featured a throwback to the sporty pieces that first made his name back in the ’90s: crop tops, mini shorts, sometimes layered on top of one another, bombers, mesh fabrics, oversize hoodies, sneakers with contrasting laces. Save for a few fringed leather pieces, the entire collection focused on athletic wear, with jersey and technical fabrics paired with destructured denim or military elements, while hemlines ranged from short jackets to extra-long coats, some sleeveless. Metallic details such as studs and chains harked back to the previous collection, which Wang had designed dark and sharp.
