It was a real #WANGFEST held on the streets of New York complete with a party bus and trucks loaded with models, who poured out onto the street and walked between the barriers. Alexander Wang once again adopted a hybrid format, teaming the traditional fashion show with a touring event, where his signature luxury street style was proposed through layered cut-outs and deconstructed layering. Classic menswear pieces were shot through with zips that created double layers or paired with ‘unfinished’ lingerie, or else with sportswear elements, such as a zipped sweatshirt worn over a striped sea blue shirt. Then there were fetish bustiers worn under or over a dress, leather and denim jeans, sporty trousers ripped like jeans, while the leitmotiv of the collection were the sleeves tied in front like a belt.
