The Hamilton Theatre, on the corner of Broadway and 146th Street, far from the usual New York Fashion Week locations, was the backdrop for Alexander Wang’s party girls in almost all black. The show began with tailored coats and outfits mixing classic and sporty fabrics, with soft outerwear topped with shrugs and skinny trousers tucked into zipped ankle boots with studded toes. These were followed by Catwoman suits worn with T-shirts, high-waist leather shorts and trousers with big metal buttons paired with bi-material blouses and bolero jackets. The show ended with outfits shot through with mesh insets edged with sparkles and little mesh dresses decorated with metallic fringes and worn over thin vests, confirming the collection’s sportswear appeal.
