Those wearing Alexander Wang next winter will have to prepare for a full immersion in black and, consequently, for a very dark and aggressive look. No room for romanticism in this collection, which mixed the appeal of a gothic Lolita with the hardness of heavy-metal and even Frankenstein creeper boots decorated with silver studs, which also appeared on dresses, long coats, some of which were wraparound, thick sweaters, quilted jackets, and ruff choker collars. The otherwise simple, linear clothes were given an edge with the piercing effect of metallic appliqués, together with zips and metal buttons: calf-length trousers, mini-dresses with little front splits, biker jackets, body-armour tops. Leather, also used as an inset, brightened the surfaces with its glossy effect, while fringes added movement to the asymmetric hemlines on the final dresses.
