Broad, exaggerated shoulders, because “she is really strong, she’s fearless”. This is how creative director Anthony Vaccarello described the Saint Laurent woman. Season after season, he dips into the vast YSL oeuvre, this time focusing on tailoring, which was almost man-sized with oversize proportions especially in the shoulders. It was immediately clear from the first looks – long coats with wide lapels over thin tops and high-waist cigarette trousers cinched with a wide belt. The blazers worn over bare skin had the same structure, as did the mini-dresses, super-short with solid shoulders, and the sheer blouses with bow, through which the shoulder padding was visible, which were tucked into micro-shorts and paired with polka dot tights. Plunging necklines, daring nude looks, iridescence and almost all black completed the look.
