Jun Takahashi of Undercover shared the runway with Takahiromiyashita The Soloist. The two designers interpreted the agreed apocalypse theme differently, the latter producing space Samurai, while the former offered men in long pleated skirts and plush or velvet suits tucked into wellington boots. There was lots of layering and different length hemlines, classic and sporty pieces, while Kubrick’s film ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ was referenced in the ‘Hal 9000’ lettering, a tribute to the super-computer on board the Discovery, while prints reproduced slogans from the film such as ‘human error’ or ‘computer malfunction’ on extra-long technical overcoats, knits and padded jackets. Beanies, peaked caps and colourful rubber gloves completed the looks.
